$500 E-COMMERCE CARD
Your virtual card for online payments from Nepal – Netflix, Amazon, Coursera, Facebook Ads, Google Cloud, etc.
Important: Fiscal Year Reset Rule
Your $500 limit refreshes every Shrawan 1st (mid-July), not on your card issuance date. For example:
- If you get card in Asar (June/July) and spend $500
- Your limit resets to fresh $500 on Shrawan 1st
- Unused balance doesn’t carry over to next year
Required Documents
| Document | Purpose | Important Note |
|---|---|---|
| PAN Card | NRB tracks your $500 usage across all banks | Linked to Integrated Reporting System (IRS) |
| Citizenship | Identity verification | Original required |
| Updated KYC | Current address verification | Must be within last 12 months |
| Bank Account | To load money onto card | Same bank account recommended |
One Person, One Card Rule
You’re allowed only ONE $500 card across all banks in Nepal. If you try to open a second card while having an active one, the system will flag your PAN and your application will be rejected.
- To switch banks: First close existing card and get “Card Closure Certificate”
- NRB’s Integrated System monitors all card issuances
- Trying multiple cards = Banking offense and potential suspension

| POS Payment | $2,000 | Split hotel bills over two days |
